Sze Man (Leax) Leung Hong Kong, China Unlocking Potential: How UMT’s DBA Program Shapes Business Leaders
Leax Leung (DBA '24) was looking for some part-time doctoral-level courses to further her education. She was recommended to investigate the University of Management and Technology (UMT)'s educational programs by her professor, Dr. Mark Li. Dr. Leung chose UMT for its reputation for academic excellence and its focus on practical applications of business theory. “The program's flexibility allowed me to balance my studies with my professional responsibilities, making it an ideal choice for a working professional like me,” Dr. Leung shared.
Completing the DBA program has had a profound impact on Dr. Leung's career trajectory. It provided her with valuable business development and management knowledge for her entrepreneurial development and increased her credibility as a business leader. “The skills I acquired, especially those of data analysis and strategic thinking, gave me the confidence to develop my MVP and contribute to the growth of my startup in a meaningful way,” Dr. Leung said. Dr. Leung appreciated the comprehensive curriculum of the DBA program. She also expressed her thanks to the faculty at UMT, who were incredibly supportive and accessible, especially her dissertation advisor, Dr. Carey Cheung. Her advisor's patience and careful guidance helped her to succeed; his help made a significant difference in her academic journey. The comprehensive learning experience has equipped Dr. Leung with deep business management knowledge, strong data-driven decision-making skills, and the ability to apply research to real-world situations. Dr. Leung believes that the DBA program is an excellent opportunity for professionals who want to improve their management experience and contribute to the business world.
