Helping to Make Career Aspirations a Reality

Jerome Pendergrass's (BBA '24) educational journey with the University of Management and Technology (UMT) began with a recommendation from a close friend and UMT alumnus. Looking to attend college after retiring from the military, he trusted his friend's recommendation, and decided to explore what UMT had to offer. "A friend of mine recommended UMT, and since he attended the school before, I took his recommendation very seriously," Jerome shared.

The ability to complete classes on his own time, and the convenience of the online format, were two big reasons why Jerome chose to attend UMT. "I really liked the online format and being able to complete my coursework when my schedule allowed," he explained. Additionally, the support from the admissions office made his enrollment process seamless. "The admissions office was very helpful in getting me enrolled. Registering for my courses in my student portal was also very easy to do," he noted.

Jerome hopes that completing his degree will have a positive impact on his life; specifically, he's hopeful for potential job opportunities. He also plans to continue his education at UMT with his sights set on completing an MBA. "I believe my degree will have a great impact on my life," Jerome expressed. "My experience has been very worthwhile. I'm excited to use the knowledge I gained and apply it to the business world."

Jerome highlighted three aspects he particularly appreciated about his UMT experience. The ease of selecting classes and registering was very efficient. He also valued the access to professors and the great communication when he needed help. Getting one-on-one help and feedback on his assignments was extremely beneficial. Finally, the ability to complete his work at his own pace allowed Jerome to balance his studies with his other commitments effectively.

As Jerome continues his academic journey, he remains grateful for the flexibility, support, and seamless experience UMT has provided. With his goal of furthering his education and enhancing his career, Jerome looks forward to the new opportunities that his UMT degree will bring.

"UMT's dedication and support made my military-to-academic transition seamless. With my BBA almost complete, I'm excited for new opportunities on the horizon. Continuing my education will help to open doors for me, and I'm very grateful for the experience and knowledge I've gained throughout my journey."
