Charting a Flexible Path toward Academic Success

Kenisha Mattox (BBA expected '25, ABA '24) embarked on her educational journey with the University of Management and Technology (UMT) driven by a dual motivation. Inspired by her spouse's positive experience at UMT and her own research, Kenisha recognized UMT as a great fit for her academic aspirations. "After researching other schools, UMT seemed like a good fit for me. My spouse's recommendation also helped solidify my decision," Kenisha shared.

Kenisha's decision to pursue her degree with UMT was further reinforced by the institution's commitment to flexibility. With a busy schedule to juggle, Kenisha appreciated how UMT's programs accommodated her commitments. "UMT worked with my schedule, which was something I was looking for in a school," Kenisha explained.

Completing her degree holds the promise of opening new avenues of opportunity for Kenisha. Currently working as a teacher's assistant at a secondary school, Kenisha sees completing her Associate's degree as a crucial step toward achieving a Bachelor's degree. Her ultimate goal is to transition into a full-time teaching position upon completing her Bachelor's degree. Reflecting on the potential impact of her degree, Kenisha expressed optimism about the doors it will unlock in her professional life.

The flexibility of UMT's programs allowed Kenisha to pursue her education on her own terms, fitting into her lifestyle as a working mother with three kids. Kenisha also valued the accessibility of support whenever she needed assistance; she found it easy to reach out for help whenever necessary.
