When Michael Lee (ASIT ’08, BSIT ’13, MSIT ‘23), a military professional, contemplated going back to school, it was a conversation with a friend that led him to discover the educational programs at the University of Management and Technology (UMT). His friend, who was also in the military and attending UMT at the time, spoke highly of the university, sparking Michael's interest in pursuing his education with them.

UMT's ability to work seamlessly with the military's education office was one of the key reasons why Michael chose the university to complete his degree in Information Technology (IT). "The process of getting tuition paid was smooth, and the communication between the military and UMT was excellent," he recalled, highlighting the ease of enrollment and the support he received from both organizations.

Having found the degree program he desired at UMT, Michael was determined to excel in his IT career path. "This is my third degree with UMT, and all have been in IT," he proudly shared. The education he received from UMT has been instrumental in his professional growth, leading to various promotions and career advancements.

Reflecting on his UMT experience, Michael listed three aspects that stood out and made his educational journey both enriching and efficient. Firstly, the affordability of UMT's programs, coupled with the UMT military scholarship, made pursuing his education financially feasible. "The cost was very reasonable, and the military scholarship provided added support," he acknowledged, appreciating the university's commitment to making education accessible to military personnel.

Secondly, UMT's consistent and well-structured instructional format for courses left a positive impression on Michael. "The platform was very user-friendly, and you knew exactly what to expect. The course materials were well-organized and comprehensive," he shared, highlighting the reliability and convenience of the learning experience.

Lastly, the ease of access to UMT's student portal and Moodle platform made managing his coursework a breeze for Michael. "I never had any issues accessing the online resources. Both the student portal and Moodle were available whenever I needed them," he expressed, emphasizing the importance of having reliable and readily available educational tools.

Additionally, UMT's seamless third-party payment system and straightforward invoice policy made it hassle-free for Michael to receive support from his workplace to cover his course expenses. "The payment process was easy to follow, and the invoice policy ensured a seamless reimbursement process," he noted, underlining the university's commitment to assisting students with the financial aspect of their education.

As Michael continues to thrive in his IT career, he is grateful for the valuable education and support he received from UMT. "UMT has been instrumental in my professional growth, and I'm thankful for the opportunities it has opened for me," he shared with enthusiasm.
