UMT Updates Its Programs and Semester Credit Hours Policy
ARLINGTON, Virginia, April 4, 2012
In accordance with DETC policy C.9. Degree Requirements, UMT updates its 33 credit-hour Master's programs to 36 credit hours. This update applies to the following programs and will be implemented no later than the Fall 2012 semester:
Master of Science in Management
Master of Public Administration
Master of Science in Computer Science
Master of Science in Criminal Justice
Master of Science in Engineering Management
Master of Science in Information Technology

To adopt newly published DETC policy C.9. Credit Hour Defined, UMT now includes the following statement in its undergraduate and graduate catalogs:
Credit hours earned at UMT are semester credit hours. In general, three credit-hour courses entail at least 45 instructional hours. Students also are expected to spend an additional 90 hours in course-related study and activities.
