UMT Launches First Responder Scholarship Program
ARLINGTON, Virginia, January 14, 2019
The University of Management and Technology (UMT) is pleased to recognize the contributions of First Responders with the creation of the UMT First Responder Scholarship program.
This needs-based scholarship is offered to eligible federal, state, and local police officers, paramedics, emergency medical services personnel, and firefighters. The scholarship reduces the cost per credit-hour from $390 to $250, waives most fees, and qualifies participation in the UMT Book Loan program.
"Emergency responders put their lives on the line every day to protect the people in the communities they serve." Dr. J. Davidson Frame, Academic Dean of the University said, "UMT is proud to offer this new scholarship as a way to show our sincere gratitude for those brave men and women by supporting them to continue their education and expand their career possibilities."
To qualify for this scholarship, applicants must:
Complete the UMT Application
Provide proof of service documentation
Enroll in two or more academic courses per enrollment
Maintain a cumulative GPA of at least 2.0 (undergraduate) or 3.0 (graduate)
