UMT Adds Four More Bachelor Degrees Into the Air University's AU-ABC Programs

ARLINGTON, Virginia, April 26, 2012

UMT is pleased to announce that it has been approved by Air University to accept applicants from CCAF AAS programs into the following UMT degree programs: Bachelor of Health Administration; Bachelor of Science in Homeland Security; Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice; and Bachelor of Science in Engineering Management.

In 2007, UMT joined United States Air Force's (USAF) Air University's Associate-to-Baccalaureate Cooperative (AU-ABC) program with the following bachelor degree programs: Bachelor of Business Administration; Bachelor of Science in Computer Science; Bachelor of Science in General Studies; and Bachelor of Science in Information Technology.

In 2010, UMT enrollments of USAF servicemembers currently rank in the top ten among AU-ABC participant schools, according to data maintained by the Academic Institution Portal – which allows information sharing between Academic Institutions and Department of Defense Systems for Air Force Automated Education Management System (AFAEMS), Air Force Virtual Education Center (AFVEC) and Military Spouse Career Advancement Accounts (MyCAA).

Successful completion of any of the CCAF AAS degrees guarantees the Airman or women 60 semester credit-house transfer (of which at least 15 will count as general education) toward a UMT bachelor's degree. To apply online, click here. For students who already possess a bachelor's degree, UMT offers a number of graduate and doctorate degrees, the full list can be viewed here.

UMT offers military scholarships for military personnel, veterans and spouses. Qualified military personnel and veterans can earn a degree without any out-of-pocket expense after TA, GI Bill, or DANTES benefits are applied. A free-of-charge Textbook Loan Program is available for active duty personnel. Up to 75% of the required hours for an undergraduate and 50% for a graduate degree can be transferred. UMT follows the AARTS, CCAF and SMART credit guidelines. It accepts CLEP and DSST scores for college credit.

UMT is an LOI school in the GoArmyEd system and a member of Servicemembers Opportunity Colleges (SOC). UMT is a strategic partner of Defense Acquisition University (DAU). UMT is selected as a "Military Friendly School for 2012" by G.I. Jobs magazine. UMT is also named as one of the 2010-2011 Top Military-Friendly Colleges and Universities by Military Advanced Education magazine.
