In accordance with DETC policy
C.9. Degree Requirements, UMT updates its 33 credit-hour Master's programs to 36
credit hours. This update applies to the following programs and will be
implemented no later than the Fall 2012 semester:
- Master of Science in Management
- Master of Public Administration
- Master of Science in Computer Science
- Master of Science in Criminal Justice
- Master of Science in Engineering Management
- Master of Science in Information Technology

To adopt
newly published DETC policy C.9. Credit Hour Defined, UMT now includes the
following statement in its undergraduate and graduate catalogs:
Credit hours earned at UMT are semester credit
hours. In general, three credit-hour courses entail at least 45 instructional
hours. Students also are expected to spend an additional 90 hours in
course-related study and activities. This update can be found in
