UMT is pleased to announce that it has been selected as a "Military Friendly School for 2012" by G.I. Jobs magazine. This ranks UMT in the top 20% of all colleges, universities and trade schools nationwide. UMT will be listed in the G.I. Jobs' 2012 Guide to Military Friendly Schools, which publishes in late September 2011. It will also be included in the online listing at www.militaryfriendlyschools.com.
"The competition for our 2012 Military Friendly Schools list was fierce and as a result we raised the already stringent criteria to a higher benchmark. Your school is among the elite." said GI Jobs Publisher Rich McCormack, "On behalf of the 8 million military members and veterans seeking a school, I thank you for your commitment to educating our nation's most deserving heroes."
The G.I. Jobs research & a survey of over 8,000 schools nationwide led to UMT's inclusion in this recognition. Methodology, criteria and weightings for the survey were determined by a Military Friendly Schools Academic Advisory Panel, consisting of 8 higher education administrators, the Veterans Association, the College Board, the American Council on Education and the Student Veterans Association. For more information on survey methodology, go to: http://www.militaryfriendlyschools.com/survey/surveymethodology.aspx.

Qualified military personnel and veterans can earn a degree without any out-of-pocket expense after TA, GI Bill, or DANTES benefits are applied. A free-of-charge Textbook Loan Program is available for active duty personnel. Up to 75% of the required hours for an undergraduate and 50% for a graduate degree can be transferred. UMT follows the AARTS, CCAF and SMART credit guidelines. It accepts CLEP and DSST scores for college credit.
