UMT is pleased to announce that the Distance Education and Training Council (DETC) recently approved UMT to enroll students in the comprehensive program of study in homeland security, including both undergraduate and graduate degrees. The degree programs available are the Associate of Science in Homeland Security (ASHS), the Bachelor of Science in Homeland Security (BSHS) and the Master of Science in Homeland Security (MSHS). These degree programs offer students education that reflects the cutting edge of current homeland security practice.
At the undergraduate level, the Associate of Science in Homeland Security (ASHS) and Bachelor of Science in Homeland Security (BSHS) provide students foundation concepts and advanced topics in homeland security and other closely related disciplines. At the graduate level, the Master of Science in Homeland Security (MSHS) provides students a strong foundation in theory and practice to allow graduates to work effectively in performing duties in a career in homeland security. UMT is also now a member of the University and Agency Partnership Initiative (UAPI) with The Naval Postgraduate School & The U.S. Department of Homeland Security’s Center for Homeland Defense and Security (CHDS).
