UMT Earns Programmatic Accreditation Reaffirmation from PMI GAC for Five Project Management Programs
ARLINGTON, VA, September 17, 2025
The University of Management and Technology (UMT) is pleased to announce that the Project Management Institute (PMI) Global Accreditation Center for Project Management Education Programs (GAC) has reaffirmed the accreditation of five of its project management degree programs. This decision, voted on by the GAC Directors at their September 2025 meeting, extends the accreditation for a six-year period, from August 1, 2025, through July 31, 2031.
The reaccredited programs include:
- Executive Certificate in Project Management
- Master of Business Administration (MBA), Project Management
- Master of Science in Information Technology (MSIT), IT Project Management
- Master of Science in Management (MSM), Project Management
- Doctor of Business Administration (DBA), Project Management
This reaffirmation solidifies UMT's standing as a premier institution for project management education, demonstrating its commitment to meeting the rigorous global standards set by the GAC.
Since 2005, the GAC's continuous recognition in UMT's project management academic programs over two decades is a testament to the university's dedication to providing high-quality, relevant, and globally recognized education. The accreditation process involves a comprehensive review of the program's curriculum, faculty, and educational resources to ensure they align with the GAC core areas of focus.
This accreditation is not just a global benchmark for UMT's education quality, it provides tangible benefits to UMT students and graduates. Alumni of GAC-accredited degree programs are granted substantial credit toward the experience requirement for all PMI certifications. Additionally, students gain access to valuable PMI resources, including scholarships, networking opportunities, and a complimentary copy of the PMBOK® Guide and various practice guides.
