UMT Goes Local to Help Small Business Overcome the Impact from COVID-19 in Arlington Virginia
ARLINGTON, Virginia, March 2, 2021
As a global online university, the University of Management and Technology (UMT) is committed to building futures. Over the last two decades, UMT has awarded UMT scholarships to thousands of students who reside in the 50 states and 4 territories of the US and overseas totaling $33.5 million.
In 2020, the COVID-19 pandemic struck local small businesses hard which impacted many lives in UMT’s local community of Arlington, Virginia. UMT reached out to Arlington Economic Development (AED) to offer its help to the local small businesses to overcome such unprecedent difficulties. UMT took its first step by donating $50,000 to support the AED in its effort to help more than 6,000 local small businesses. UMT also discussed possibilities with AED in providing educational and training support to local businesses. "We are excited just thinking about the possibility of working more collaboratively [with UMT] in the future!" said Mr. Telly Tucker, Director of Arlington Business Development.
