UMT Holds 2018 Hong Kong Graduation Ceremony
ARLINGTON,
Virginia, September 10, 2018
The University of Management and Technology
successfully held its Hong Kong Graduation Ceremony on Sunday, 29 July 2018, in
Herbalgy Lecture Theatre at City University of Hong Kong.
More than 300
participants from China, Hong Kong and Macau attended. During the ceremony,
graduate representatives, Mr. Edi Wong Ho Shing and Mr. Alan Li Kwong Yuen
shared their personal stories. Hon Tony Tse Wai Chuen was the honorable guest
speaker.
Edi Wong was honored as a 2018 Outstanding Graduate at DEAC's
92nd Annual Conference. Edi used his stories to encourage fellow graduates to
embrace the lifelong learning mindset in order to stay competitive and make more
contributions to society.
Alan Li completed a BBA in 2009 and an MBA in
2018. His career went from police to fire service and then to business. From his
perspective as a director of his company, he offered insight to the graduates:
“After first impression comes qualifications. Only after qualifications can a
person be judged on personal traits such as integrity and abilities."
Hon
Tony Tse Wai Chuen, Hong Kong legislative councilor, explained that there are
many challenges in Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Bay Area and One Belt One Road
developments. He used his stories to inspire UMT graduates to build up more
management skills to seize the opportunities.
Dr. Clive Tsang, the Vice
Chairman of UMT HK Alumni Association, represented the UMTHKAA. He invited all
UMT alumni to participate in upcoming activities.
Dr. Chen, UMT's founder
and President, reviewed the university's achievements over the past 20
years.

Since its
establishment in 1998, 21,838 students coming from all 50 states, the District
of Columbia, 4 US territories, the US Military around the world, and 89
countries have enrolled in UMT degree programs. A total of 13,149 have earned
degrees.
