UMT Ranks 7th in the 2018 Top Online Master's Programs in Project
Management Certification
ARLINGTON, Virginia, January 10,
2017
The University of Management and Technology is
proud to announce that it is ranked 7th as one of the top 10 schools that
provide online Master's degrees in project management (https://www.guidetoonlineschools.com/degrees/project-management#masters-certification).
Each Master's program is accredited by the Project Management Institute (PMI)
and is ranked by the number of professional development units (PDUs) it
satisfies. PDUs are required for individuals to maintain project management
certification through the PMI, and are used by the Institute to measure the
relevance of project management courses.
According to the “Project
Management Job Growth and Talent Gap 2017-2027” report published by the
Project Management Institute (PMI) in May 2017, nearly 22 million new project
management jobs will be added through 2027, a growth of 33%. This
rate of growth is faster than that of the average job growth outlook of 22% as
published by the Bureau of Labor Statistics for 2016-2026. Not only are project
management jobs growing, but project managers also command highly competitive
salaries. As of November 2017, the median annual entry level project manager
salary is around $70,000.
UMT has been a key player in education
since its founding in 1998. Its faculty members are leaders in the project
management education arena, having educated more than 30,000 managers in this
field. Dr. J. Davidson Frame, UMT Academic Dean, commented on UMT’s ranking,
“Project Management is more important today than ever. We are pleased that our
nearly 20 year commitment to project management education is receiving the
recognition it deserves.”
UMT is one of the first universities to offer a
project management program for their students, many of whom have gone on to
accomplish their professional and career goals.
Currently, UMT offers the
following degrees in project management:
- MBA, with a focus in project management
- MS in Management, with a focus in project and acquisition management
- MS in Information Technology, with a focus in project management
- Doctor of Business Administration (DBA), where students can orient their
work toward project management
