UMT Holds 2015 Hong Kong Graduation Ceremony
ARLINGTON, Virginia, August 31, 2015
The UMT 2015 Hong
Kong graduation ceremony for Bachelor, Master and Doctoral graduates was
successfully held at the Hong Kong Polytechnic University on Sunday, July 26th,
2015. Dr. Yanping Chen, UMT's President, traveled to Hong Kong to attend the
ceremony. Close to 700 graduates and guests were present at the ceremony. During
the ceremony, UMT faculty and graduate representatives shared stories of their
unique journeys for higher education at UMT.
Dr. BL Lam, who earned a
Doctor of Business Administration degree from UMT, was able to have his
childhood dream of becoming a "Doctor" come true after acquiring four Master
Degrees (including Master of Science in Total Quality Management, Master of
Business Administration, Master of Environmental and Business Management and
Master of Arts in Theology). He encouraged graduates by saying, "Don't just sit
and wait. DO IT NOW. I can do it, you can do it too!"
Dr. Allan Lee, who
received a Doctor of Business Administration degree from UMT, thanked Dr. Mark
Li for providing helpful dissertation support and step-by-step guidance;
reminded and encouraged the UMT graduates to acquire more knowledge in order to
compete in the job market.
Ms. Polly Tam, current UMTHKAA Vice President,
who received a Master of Business Administration from UMT, thanked her boss for
encouraging her to study MBA and reminded UMT graduates that "Opportunities are
reserved for those who are prepared for them to come."
In her speech, Dr.
Chen reviewed the university's achievements over the past 17 years since it was
founded in 1998.

Since its
establishment in 1998, 17,002 students coming from all 50 states, the District
of Columbia, 4 US territories, the US Military around the world, and 69
countries have enrolled in UMT degree programs. A total of 9,593 have earned
degrees.
