UMT Holds 2014 Hong Kong Graduation Ceremony
ARLINGTON, Virginia, August 1, 2014
The UMT 2014 Hong
Kong graduation ceremony for Bachelor, Master and Doctoral graduates was
successfully held at the Hong Kong Polytechnic University on July 27th, 2014.
Dr. Yanping Chen, UMT's President, traveled to Hong Kong to attend the ceremony.
Graduate representatives, Dr. Cheung Kong Hung, Dr. Sze Chun Tsang, Mr. Ody
Tang, Mr. Man Sum Lo, Mr. Henry Siu, and Ms. Christine Siu shared their personal
learning experiences as part of the UMT 2014 graduating class. Speeches of the

graduates and guests were present at the ceremony.
In her speech, Dr.
Chen reviewed the decisions made by UMT founders in 1998 that shaped the
university's history to be one of the first in online education aimed to serve
students across geographical boundaries. She encouraged the 2014 graduating
class to be UMT's ambassadors and to set an example for others. "You should
never stop learning and achieving. Take your degree on your life journey and let
it shine - through your talent, knowledge, love and passion - contribute to a
better world and a better tomorrow - both for you personally and for
others."
Since its establishment in 1998, UMT has awarded 8,533 degrees
at the associate, bachelor, master and doctoral levels and has enrolled 17,700
students who reside in every state of the United States, its territories, and
the District of Columbia as well as more than 69 countries worldwide.
