UMT Named A "Military-Friendly University" by Military Advanced
Education for the 3rd Consecutive Year
ARLINGTON, Virginia, 21
December 2012
UMT is
pleased to announce that it has been named as a ’Military-Friendly University”
by the Military Advanced Education (MAE) magazine for the 3rd
consecutive year. UMT is listed in the MAE’s Annual Guide to
Military-Friendly Colleges and Universities, published in December
2012.
The publication, which helps inform education service officers,
transition officers and the service members they counsel, noted that schools on
the list “go out of their way to implement military-friendly policies in support
of our men and women in uniform.”
“ We are honored to be recognized once
again by Military Advanced Education for our commitment to providing
the highest quality online educational programs to the men and women who serve
our country.” said Dr. J. Davidson Frame, UMT Academic Dean. “UMT realizes this
commitment by offering many benefits that enable military students to earn their
degrees efficiently and affordably.”
Among the attributes considered in
evaluating this year’s colleges and universities for inclusion in the
MAE’s guide are the flexibility of online learning options, extent of
transfer credits accepted by degree level, Servicemember Opportunity Colleges
(SOC) participation, and the support provided to the families of
servicemembers.
About UMT

scholarships for military personnel, veterans and spouses. Qualified military
personnel and veterans can earn a degree without any out-of-pocket expense after

hours for an undergraduate and 50% for a graduate degree can be transferred. UMT
follows the AARTS, CCAF and SMART credit guidelines. It accepts CLEP and DSST
scores for college credit.
UMT is an LOI school in the GoArmyEd system
and a member of Servicemembers Opportunity Colleges (SOC). It is a university
