Overview

This graduate level course shows how effective management requires mastery of both communication skills and soft skills - the two are interdependent. The course covers different perspectives on workplace behavior, development of interpersonal relations skills, dealing with others in a collaborative fashion, handling conflict. It also takes a look at the practice of communication in a work environment, e.g., use of meetings, writing memos, virtual team management, and more.

Objectives

To help project workers develop "soft" skills that will enable them to deal effectively with customers, coworkers, managers, vendors, and anyone else who they encounter during the course of their project efforts.
