Course Format and Workload

In what format are the courses?

All courses are offered online. Students may take any courses at any time and from any location in the world where they have access to a computer and the Internet.

What's included in the courses?

Each course offers the following:

  • Structured Modules/Lessons: The content is usually broken down into logical modules or lessons, each focusing on specific topics within the certification objectives.
  • Informational Text/Readings: Expect comprehensive text explanations of concepts, technologies, and procedures. This forms the core learning material.
  • Visual Aids: Courses often incorporate diagrams, illustrations, charts, and screenshots to help visualize complex topics and procedures (e.g., network topologies, hardware components, software interfaces).
  • Videos: Many courses include video lectures or demonstrations explaining concepts, showing how to perform tasks, or providing real-world scenarios.
  • Practice Questions/Quizzes: Throughout the modules, you'll typically find practice questions or quizzes to test your understanding of the material as you go. These often mimic the style of the actual certification exam questions.
  • Hands-on Labs/Simulations (Often Included, but Varies): Some courses offer virtual labs or simulations where you can practice configuring devices, troubleshooting issues, or implementing security measures in a safe environment. The extent of these labs can vary significantly between course providers.
  • Review Sections/Summaries: At the end of modules or sections, there are often summaries or review points to reinforce key takeaways.
  • Glossary of Terms: Technical terms are usually defined within the course material or in a separate glossary.
  • Final Practice Exams: Before the actual certification exam, courses typically provide one or more full-length practice exams to simulate the real testing experience and identify areas for further study.
  • Certificate of Completion: A certificate of completion is issued upon successful exam completion. It will be emailed to you after we confirm that you've passed the official certification exam successfully.
