UMT Scholarships
UMT offers several scholarships that reduce the cost per credit-hour from $390 to $250 and waive most fees (e.g., Semester Registration, Change of Program, etc.). See the Tuition and Fees section on this page https://www.umtweb.edu/TandFA.aspx.
For all UMT Scholarships, student must:
- Complete the UMT Application. The $30 application fee is waived.
- Take at least two courses per enrollment unless in last enrollment of the program
- Maintain a cumulative GPA of at least 2.0 (undergraduate) or 3.0 (graduate)
UMT Active/Reserve Military Scholarship
Eligibility:
- Active Duty US Military personnel
- National Guard
- Reserves
To receive this scholarship, in addition to the general requirements above, applicants must:
- Submit proof of Active Duty, National Guard, or Reserves.
UMT Veteran Scholarship
Eligibility:
- Honorably discharged veterans
To receive this scholarship, in addition to the general requirements above, applicants must:
- Submit a DD-214 or DD-295 form showing that they are honorably discharged.
UMT Military Dependent Scholarship
Eligibility:
- Spouse and children (under 26 years old) of Active Duty US Military personnel or honorably discharged veterans who live in the same household
To receive this scholarship, in addition to the general requirements above, applicants must:
- Submit documents showing that they are an Active Duty US Military personnel or honorably discharged veteran dependent residing with the servicemember.
- Active Duty spouse/children: Submit proof of Active Duty status.
- Veteran spouse/children: Submit DD-214 or DD-295 form showing that the veteran is honorably discharged.
UMT First Responder Scholarship
Eligibility:
- Federal, state and local police officers, paramedics, emergency personnel and firefighters
To receive this scholarship, in addition to the general requirements above, applicants must:
- Provide proof of eligibility: Documentation supporting status as a First Responder. This can include: tuition forms, badge number and department, a reference letter on official letterhead from a superior, etc.
