UMT Courses Prepare You to Earn the PMP® or CAPM® Credential

UMT's project management courses prepare individuals to take and pass the Project Management Professional® (PMP®) or Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM®) credential exam offered by the Project Management Institute (PMI). UMT has delivered its PMP® foundation courses since 2000, continually revising them to align them with changing project management standards. Roughly 5,000 students have studied for the exam with UMT. UMT has tracked performance on the exam of some 1,500 of these students – 97% passed the exam (including retakes).

The current version of UMT courses is built around PMI's global standards contained in A Guide to the Project Management Body of Knowledge®, 6th edition (PMBOK Guide®, 6).

UMT is uniquely positioned to deliver courses that prepare students to take and pass the PMP® or CAPM® exam. The courses are designed and maintained by Dr. J. Davidson Frame, PhD, PMP, PMI Fellow, who served for six years – as a volunteer – as PMI's Director of Certification and also served an additional two years as its Director of Educational Services. Beyond this,  its four online graduate level degrees in project management demonstrate UMT's unmatched depth of expertise in the online delivery of project management knowledge and skills (MBA Project Management, MSM Project Management, MSIT IT Project Management, MSM Acquisition Management).

The PMP® exam is challenging. It is not geared toward novices. It addresses ten knowledge areas and five processes covered in the PMBOK Guide®. Without substantial study, no one has full mastery of the range of topics covered in the exam's 200 questions.

Those who are fairly new to the practice of project management would benefit from taking six courses from the list below to address the full range of topics covered on the exam. These courses are foundation courses drawn from UMT's suite of courses called PM Suite. Individuals who have already mastered the key topics covered by specific courses can skip them. Novices taking the less challenging CAPM exam should take four courses from the list below.
