UMT offers a top quality education
for as little as half the tuition of many similar programs.
We believe these low tuition expenses are themselves
a financial incentive for the hard working professional.
Beyond our low tuition, UMT also offers a number of
tuition incentives and savings in order to assist our
students in funding their education. In addition to
the items listed below, UMT may consider supplementary
financial assistance or relief on a case-by-case basis.
Teaching & Research Assistantships
UMT offers a limited number of teaching
and research assistantships to students. Contact
UMT for more information about eligibility and requirements.
Military
Scholarship
UMT offers a Military Scholarship
Program for eligible active duty military, serving
in the
Army, Air
Force, Navy, Marine Corps, Coast Guard, National
Guard, and Reserves.
The UMT Military Scholarship
awards tuition assistance, reducing the cost per
credit-hour
from $390 to
$250.
Military Book Scholarship
Active
duty military personnel receiving the UMT Military
Scholarship may qualify
for participation
in the UMT Book Scholarship program. This
program provides textbooks at no cost. Students
interested
in receiving this scholarship must write
to UMT, explaining their needs.
Tuition Assistance
and G.I. Bill
To receive TA, the applicant must
obtain the written approval of his/her commanding
officer
or education
services officer. Approval is indicated
by signature on the TA form.
Veterans and
Active duty military personnel may use their Montgomery
G.I. Bill

committing
to enrollment, the applicant must
establish his/her eligibility with the Department
of Veterans Affairs.
Always consult the VA before taking
any action that involves your valuable
VA
benefits! Once enrolled, UMT’s
VA Certifying Official will provide a
signed
enrollment certification to the VA. For
more
information, see the VA web site
at www.gibill.va.gov.
Or call 1-888-GI-BILL-1.
UMT also is affiliated
with the Defense Activity for Nontraditional
Education
Support (DANTES)
and will process TA for students
using DANTES according
to their policies. For more information
on DANTES, see the Department of
Defense Voluntary

to helping servicemembers and
their families get college
degrees. Visit their

Veterans’ Benefits
UMT is approved for VA GI Bill Education Benefits
(www.gibill.va.gov).
Some students may be entitled
to educational benefits as active-duty personnel,
veterans, or widows or
children of deceased or totally disabled veterans.
UMT’s administrative office processes certification
of enrollment and attendance for the Department of
Veterans Affairs so that eligible persons will receive
educational allowances.
