As
the practice of project management has grown,
a new professional, the project manager, has
emerged who may orchestrate an office that
can become a new resource to the entire organization.
This office can provide support, standardize
approaches to projects, train people, and integrate
under-utilized parts of the organization effectively.
This book is written for managers who are
trying to discover how best to implement projects
in their organizations. It focuses on nurturing
project management capabilities by establishing
and maintaining a project office. It does this
by reviewing the functions that project offices
can carry out and showing how project offices
can be set up to support these functions.
