UMT MBA Program Gains Recognition from the Hong Kong Education Bureau

ARLINGTON, Virginia, June 19, 2008 – The University of Management and Technology (UMT) is pleased to announce that its Master of Business Administration (MBA) program has gained official recognition by the Education Bureau (formerly Education and Manpower Bureau, EMB) of the Government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region of the People’s Republic of China.

The application process to gain such recognition from the HK Education Bureau was accomplished through the joint effort of the UMT and the Interactive Education (HK) Ltd, UMT’s Hong Kong Representative Office. Under the leadership of Mr. Charles Huang and Mr. Tony Hui, the application team demonstrated that the UMT MBA program meets the rigorous standards set by Section 10 of the Non-local Higher and Professional Education Ordinance. UMT’s MBA is now registered at the Education Bureau and the EMB registration number is 261825.

The MBA program's recognition was received 11 months after UMT’s Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) program gained recognition by the EMB.

With the recognition of the Hong Kong Education Bureau, UMT is allowed to recruit MBA students in Hong Kong to enroll in its US based online degree programs. Hong Kong students will also be eligible to receive government funding to study in the UMT MBA program.
