UMT MBA Program Gains Recognition from the Hong Kong Education Bureau
ARLINGTON,
Virginia, June 19, 2008 – The
University of Management and Technology (UMT)
is pleased
to announce that its Master of Business Administration
(MBA) program has gained official recognition
by the Education Bureau (formerly Education
and Manpower Bureau, EMB) of the Government
of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region
of the People’s Republic of China.
The
application process to gain such recognition
from the HK Education Bureau was accomplished
through the joint effort of the UMT and the
Interactive Education (HK) Ltd, UMT’s
Hong Kong Representative Office. Under the
leadership of Mr. Charles Huang and Mr. Tony
Hui, the application team demonstrated that
the UMT MBA program meets the rigorous standards
set by Section 10 of the Non-local Higher
and Professional Education Ordinance. UMT’s
MBA is now registered at the Education Bureau
and the EMB registration number is 261825.
The
MBA program's recognition was received 11
months after UMT’s Bachelor of Business
Administration (BBA) program gained recognition
by the EMB.
With the recognition of the
Hong Kong Education Bureau, UMT is allowed
to
recruit MBA students
in Hong Kong to enroll in its US based online
degree programs. Hong Kong students will
also be eligible to receive government funding
to study in the UMT MBA program.
