Chapter to DETC Handbook
ARLINGTON, Virginia,
October 20, 2004 - UMT
is pleased to announce that Vice President,
Dr. C. Eric Kirkland, authored a chapter in
the newly released fourth edition of the DETC
Course Development Handbook. This edition of
the handbook was first published in 1980 and
was revised in 1988 and 1993. The 2004 edition
has been fully revised with all new chapters
and additional topics on online distance education.
Dr. Kirkland's chapter addressed integrating
online courses with the Web.
In the announcment by
Mr. Michael Lambert, Executive Director of
the Distance Education
and Training Council, he stated "[w]e
are deeply indebted to the chapter authors.
We express our gratitude to each of them for
their fine contributions to the advancement
of the distance study field." Copies may
