Welcomes Eric Kirkland
to Oversee North American Operations
ARLINGTON,
Virginia, January 27, 2003 - UMT is pleased
to announce the appointment
of Dr. Eric Kirkland as its Vice President
of Operations.
Dr. Kirkland will play a lead role in strengthening
UMT's US business and education processes.
His duties include maintaining and enhancing
UMT's educational infrastructure, identifying
and managing personnel needs, and maintaining
and enhancing procedures for running the US
business and educational operations.

Chen. "His background makes him an ideal
choice to help oversee the expansion of UMT's
domestic operations."
Prior to joining UMT, Dr. Kirkland was the
Vice President and Director of Education at
Grantham University. While at Grantham, he
helped increase student enrollments five-fold
over the past year and took the lead role in
reorganizing and enhancing the university's
distance education programs.
"UMT has enormous potential for growth," Dr.
Kirkland said. "I'm looking forward to
working with the university's management and
staff to expand its enrollments and course
offerings."

Based in Arlington, Virginia, UMT offers MBA

Dr. Kirkland earned his doctorate in research
methodology from the University of Virginia,
where he also completed his bachelor's degree
in psychology and a master's degree in education.
He has an MBA from The Wharton School of the
University of Pennsylvania, majoring in management
with areas of concentration in entrepreneurship
and strategic planning.
His career has included management of computer
systems design and development projects for
Oracle, Integrated Microcomputer Systems, Transportation
Management Systems, Texas Instruments, and
Lunenburg County Public Schools. He has numerous
presentations and publications, including several
U.S. patents.
