Master's Program in
Computer Science and IT
ARLINGTON, VA, OCTOBER
20, 2000 - UMT has launched a new master's program in
computer science
and information technology that expands the
university's offerings into the hottest technology
field today.
On October 17, the State Council of Higher
Education for Virginia (SCHEV) granted the
University of Management and Technology (UMT)
the right to offer courses leading to the Master
of Science degree in Computer Science and Information
Technology.
"This program puts the 'T' in UMT," said
Academic Dean J. Davidson Frame. "It is
an excellent match with our degree and certificate
offerings in the management area. Modern management
is increasingly about managing technology."
UMT is a graduate level university providing
degree and professional development programs
oriented toward management and technology.
UMT also offers Master of Science in Management,
MBA, and certificate programs in Project Management.
In the 33-credit hour Computer Science and
Information Technology program, students can
focus their studies in one of four tracks:
Computer Science, Software Engineering, Management
Information Systems, or Multimedia Technology.
"The program is geared to helping students
acquire the advanced skills they need to operate
in today’s high technology, information-driven
world," Frame said. "Courses are
offered both in the classroom as well as on-line.
