UMT Chinese Students to Graduate in Commencement
on October 21

Arlington Ceremony to Mark Completion
of First Degree Program in China

ARLINGTON, VA, OCTOBER 13, 2000 - UMT will graduate its first class of Chinese students on Oct. 21 at a ceremony in Arlington, Virginia.

Twenty-two Chinese students will travel to the United States to receive their master of science in Management degrees. The group is part of a class of 76 students from Guangzhou who completed the program as part of UMT's distance education effort. The program was conducted in cooperation with the Guangdong Expert Bureau and Guangdong Marketing Association.

"We are looking forward to the students' arrival," Dr. Chen said. "The program went extremely well. This is a result of several years of hard work by UMT and its Chinese partners."

The ceremony will be held on Saturday, Oct. 21 from 2:30 - 5 p.m. at the Best Western Key Bridge, 1850 North Fort Myer Drive, Arlington VA. Please contact UMT at (703) 516-0035 if you plan to attend.

UMT is working to establish education and training programs in other Chinese cities. The Chinese government is eager to improve project management and other management disciplines throughout the country as part of its economic reforms.

"This marks another success in the internationalization of UMT's education offerings," Dr. Frame said. "We anticipate rapid growth in both our domestic and international programs over the coming year."
