UMT Completes Executive Certificate Program in Shenzhen

Certificate Program in Project Management
is UMT's First in China

ARLINGTON, VA, SEPTEMBER 25, 2000 - UMT is proud to announce the completion of its first certificate program in China.

Forty students recently completed UMT's Executive Certificate Program in Project Management in Shenzhen, China. This program was offered in cooperation with the Shenzhen High Tech Zone.

"We're very pleased with the completion of this first certificate program," Dr. Frame said. "We anticipate moving rapidly to expand our offerings in China during the coming year."

The six-course program covered areas such as project management, scheduling, cost control, and risk and quality management. It was taught by UMT faculty members J. Davidson Frame, Yanping Chen, Larry Joseph, Tom Block, and Jody Uyanik. At the end, students were given a comprehensive examination.

UMT is working to establish education and training programs in other Chinese cities. Due to UMT's special education contribution to the city, the Shenzhen High Tech Zone invited UMT to affiliate with its campus.

"The Chinese government is eager to improve project management and other management disciplines throughout the country as part of its economic reforms," Dr. Chen said. "UMT is eager to work with them to accomplish this goal."
