ARLINGTON,
VA, 1 July 2000 - The University of
Management and Technology conducted its 2000
graduation ceremony here.
The class included three students, Peggye McBean,
Lavaughn Seepersad, and Derick Fabien. McBean and
Seepersad attended the ceremony along with a number
of their classmates. Fabien could not attend but
was there in spirit. Academic Dean J. Davidson
Frame and UMT president Yanping Chen presided over
the ceremony.
"Everyone should know that from the very
first day, the staff of UMT have been committed
to providing the highest quality of education and
training to the students," McBean said. "The
staff has been tireless in their efforts to make
the university a success but to also insure that
each student was afforded the time and commitment
needed for graduation."
My gratitude and respect
for Dr. Frame is boundless," she
added. "He has always been the inspiration
for me. To the rest of the staff, I say 'Thank
you for the support and effort you have devoted
to me.'"
UMT began operations in 1998. The university offers
MS in Management and programs at its Arlington
campus and through distance education.
The university also offers Professional Development
Programs (PDPs), training programs, and consulting
services. During the past two years, the university
has initiated programs in China as part of its
distance education program.
"We're very pleased to see more students
graduating from UMT," said Dr. Chen. "We
look forward to building a strong university that
can bring the latest in management education to
an expanding group of students."
