Student Council Being Formed

ARLINGTON, VA, 10 September 1999 - UMT’s students are now forming a Student Council to give them a formal voice in the university.

The Council’s goals include:

  • facilitating interaction among students
  • serving as a communication channel between students and the administration
  • contributing to the growth and quality of the university.

"The Student Council is a valuable addition to UMT," said Dr. J. Davidson Frame, academic dean. "We want to build a partnership with our students to better serve their academic needs and to help build the university."

The council is still in its formative stage. Ken Hudacsko, an MS in Management student, is leading the effort to define the council’s functions and structure.

"UMT is not your traditional university," Hudacsko noted. "It primarily serves working professionals. There’s no campus, no thousands of students assembled in one place. We need to design the council’s structure accordingly."

Input from all students is welcomed. For more information, send email to hudacsko@worldnet.att.net.
