UMT Professor Delivers Keynote Address at International Management Conference in Beijing

ARLINGTON, VA, AUGUST 2, 1999 - UMT Executive Scholar Thomas R. Block was recently a keynote speaker at the World Management Conference '99 in Beijing.

Mr. Block gave his address, "The Global Project Office-A Revolution in Project Management," to a gathering of more than 1,000 Chinese and international management experts. He also co-chaired a discussion session during the conference. UMT was a co-sponsor of the conference, which took place from July 18-21.

Following the conference, Mr. Block delivered a one-day seminar on new project management to more than 50 managers of the Beijing High Tech Zone. He then gave the seminar to 150 managers in Kunming, capital of Yunnan Province.

"We were very happy to have Tom represent us at these sessions," said UMT President Yanping Chen. "This is a good step in helping to further UMT's experience internationally."
