Tom Block
Appointed to UMT Faculty Corps
ARLINGTON, Virginia,
June 27, 1999 - UMT
Academic Dean J. Davidson Frame announces the
appointment of Tom Block to the university's
Faculty Corps.
Mr. Block's areas of expertise
include: project management, project office, "just-in-time" training,
project intervention and recovery, and project
start-ups. He is an executive scholar at the
University of Management & Technology and
a visiting corporate fellow at The George Washington
University's International Center for Project
Management.
Mr. Block has held high-level project office
positions at EDS, Perot Systems, and PM Solutions.
He has supervised the implementation of project
offices for Xerox, Moore, Bechtel, the Immigration
and Naturalization Service, Ameritech and Dow
Jones.
He has presented numerous papers on project
management at the Project Management Institute
(PMI) Seminar/Symposiums, Project World, and
Project Leadership Conferences. Mr. Block and
Dr. Frame co-authored the 1998 book titled, The
Project Office-A Key to Managing Projects Effectively.
Mr. Block has an MBA from Syracuse University
and a bachelor of business administration in
accounting from Canisius College, Buffalo, NY.
He is a certified Project Management Professional
(PMP).
